Norman Rockwell “Off Duty Santa” 1940 Vintage Christmas Art Print - Heavy Cardstock - Matte Print

Add a touch of classic holiday charm to your home with this beautifully restored Norman Rockwell illustration from December 28, 1940. Known as “Off Duty Santa” or “Santa on the Train,” this beloved artwork captures Rockwell’s signature storytelling style—warm, humorous, and deeply human.

In this scene, a weary department‑store Santa has dozed off after a long day of greeting children, still holding his newspaper as he rests in his chair. His black coat is draped over the familiar red suit, bells still fastened to his pant legs. Just behind him, a curious young boy peeks around a partition, clutching envelopes marked “Drysdale,” while a cheerful Santa poster on the wall promises holiday magic.

This print blends nostalgia, Americana, and Rockwell’s unmatched ability to portray everyday moments with heart. Perfect for Christmas décor, vintage art collections, gift‑giving, or adding timeless holiday warmth to any room.

Printed on premium cardstock with crisp detail and rich color—ready for framing, gifting, or display.
